Frank Wu received his BA in English Language and Literature and his MA in Translation Studies from Peking University. His current research interests lie in the interrelated themes of war, politics and modernism, with a primary focus on expatriate writers and poets in voluntary or forced exile during the 1920s and 30s. He is also attentive to the literary representation of the materiality of rusticity and urbanity in interwar Britain, Weimar Germany and the Republic of China, as well as the (un)translatability of war experience and national mentalities in a framework of comparative cultural study.
