Y-Dang Troeung Memorial Fund

To honor Dr. Y-Dang Troeung’s life and accomplishments, her family, friends and colleagues have created the Y-Dang Troeung Memorial Fund. Your gift will pay tribute to Dr. Troeung’s life and career by supporting students following in her footsteps at UBC.

The English Department Trust Fund

The English Department Trust Fund supports undergraduate students by providing funds for visiting scholars and writers, and staff to help students with first-year requirements. It also helps to fund graduate student travel and thesis preparation costs.

Gernett Sedgewick Memorial Fund for Annual Lectures

The Garnett Sedgewick Memorial Fund was established by friends of the late Professor Garnett G. Sedgewick, who was the Head of the Department of English from 1918 to 1948. This endowment allows the department to invite and feature outstanding speakers of diverse scholarly pursuits, provide financial aid to exceptional students, and to grow the cultural assets of the university.

Sherrill E. Grace Graduate Scholarship in English

Endowed by her late husband, Dr. John R. Grace, this scholarship honours Dr. Sherrill E. Grace, who is a Professor Emerita in the Department of English. This scholarship is awarded to graduate students in the Department of English who are conducting original research in literary and/or cultural study of Canada that promises to advance understanding of the country and has potential for publication.
