The Department of English Language & Literatures offers a variety of programs and courses at the undergraduate level to students interested in English literatures, English language, or a combination of English language and literatures.
We teach a broad and balanced curriculum that incorporates historical periodization, national and transnational literatures, genre studies, cultural studies, theory, rhetoric and English linguistics.
A wide range of careers may be launched with the skills gained from an English degree. Our graduates have entered areas such as media, communications, or the arts; have been accepted into professional programs such as Law, Education, Business, Medicine, or Journalism; and have joined MA and PhD programs in English. Co-op options for English Majors and Honours are especially designed to prepare students for the job market.
