Dr. Gregory Mackie has been appearing in various media sources during these past days to talk about UBC Library’s recent acquisition of what William Butler Yeats referred to as “the most beautiful of all printed books,” the William-Morris-Kelmscott Press edition of Geoffrey Chaucer’s Works. The Kelmscott Chaucer not only serves as a teaching tool that will help our students better understand the English-speaking world’s book culture at the end of the 19th century, it also provides a unique insight into printing technologies old and new. Listen to Dr. Mackie’s interview with CBC Radio’s As it Happens on 23 August 2016 (at 17:03 into the program)
