Cathy (they/she) is a second-year MA student interested in contemporary Asian North American art and literature, queer studies, affect, and critical mindfulness. Their SSHRC funded thesis examines how embodiments of non-linearity in Asian Canadian art and poetry can connect transpacific and/or transnational histories of empire and practice Asian and Indigenous coalition-building. They have a BA in Transnational Literature from Davidson College, where they wrote their honours thesis on Asian American female shapeshifting and world-building. They have published art writing, creative non-fiction, and interviews in SAD Magazine and Reissue, including topics like culinary storytelling and plant medicines.
