About
I am an MA student studying the English language from multiple vantage points. I am most interested in how language is shaped by various forces (e.g. the speaker’s thought processes, the relationships between speakers, the genres employed, etc.) To that end, I employ a number of linguistic theories, including Systemic Functional Linguistics and Cognitive Linguistics.
Especially relevant to me are the ways that language works in the context of mental health, including but not limited to therapeutic contexts. I completed my BMUS with a double major in Music and English Language at UBC. |
