About
Originally a classically trained recording producer/tonmeister, I have been slowly transitioning to the field of English in order to try and understand the world through an intersection of music and language, believing in the ethical and intellectual power of esthetics. My research interests lie at the intersection of poetry and poetics, modernist studies, queer studies, sound studies and psychoanalysis. I am writing an MA thesis on the musical approaches to the non-representational poetry of Gertrude Stein and M. NourbeSe Philip, while working as a research assistant at the Department of Geography to produce a soundmap of Vancouver as part of the World Soundscape Project.
