My dissertation seeks to develop a methodology that draws on recent theories of technoscientific knowledge as transformative and non-representational, to examine the relationship between literary texts and objects that resist literary representation. I look for the agency of the textual object in departures from conventional writing: departures from conventional form and style in Modernist texts, and departures from realism in science fiction texts.
