About

Sharon is a PhD Candidate working on contemporary British and Canadian novels written by women. Their research focuses on novels that critique the meta-narratives and genres of romance as “straightening” devices (Sara Ahmed). Much of their interdisciplinary work looks at the influence of feminisms and the possibilities of representing queer love in fiction.

When they aren’t working as a Research Assistant for distinguished Law Professor Michelle LeBaron on her current book project on the history and political narrativization of abortion, their other work includes writing for publications such as University Affairs and The Conversation Canada.

Other Research Areas
