Planning to apply to Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy?

Know the first-year English and Literature requirements!

UBC Medicine requires 6 credits of Literature or 3 credits of Literature and 3 credits of Writing, taught by an English Department.

UBC Medicine does not accept SCIE 113 or LFS 150.

UBC Science requires SCIE 113.

So, if you are new to UBC Science in 2024, you MUST take SCIE 113, but if you want to apply to Medicine someday, you should ALSO take ENGL 110 and ENGL 100 or WRDS 150 so that you have the right 6 credits!

Check Dentistry and Pharmacy directly for what does and does not count in their requirements for 6 credits of first-year English and Literature.
