The Department of English is requesting applications for a Sessional Lecturer for the academic year 2016-2017 to teach one 3-credit section of ENGL 312 “Discourse and Society,” an introduction to theories of language and culture, and to techniques for analyzing discourses in their social contexts.
THIS POSITION IS NOW FILLED.
Applicants should have a complete or near-complete PhD in Rhetoric or a related field, with successful experience teaching rhetoric or discourse studies. Applicants from both inside and outside UBC are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should include with their letter of application:
• a cover letter indicating your suitability for the position
• a curriculum vitae (detailing post-secondary teaching experience)
• recent teaching evaluations or other evidence of teaching effectiveness

Positions are subject to final budgetary approval and are governed by UBC’s “Agreement on Conditions of Appointment for Sessional Faculty Members.” The current minimum salary is $6,264 per 3-credit course.
